When we were kids, we sure had lots of dreams. We wanted to fly, to set foot on the moon, and to travel through time with our Citizen watches. We wanted to have magic powers and we believed that behind our parents’ wardrobe closet is a passageway to another world. We were creative and had a list of things to invent that could change the world.
Now, I couldn’t even remember half of my dreams. Between trying to be an inventor, exploring space, and becoming a world-renowned poet, thoughts in the mind just got lost in translation. I somehow lost in our environment, lost in our education, and lost in our own set of priorities. We want to buy Citizen watches not because we want to travel through time, but because we need to track time for our travels.
We lose our dreams to ourselves and we stop dreaming altogether.
But dreams ignite hope, shape cultures, and build nations. Yet, today’s nation’s citizens watch and settle for becoming spectators to our own lives.
When we were younger, we never wanted to sleep. We wanted to chase our dreams. But now that we’re old, we don’t want to be awake, and so our dreams haunt us.
Dreams are for the purpose of awakening. We should never outgrow them; for dreams are eternal.
